Charity Auction Raises Thousands for Dog Rescue

A charity auction was held on Saturday 13th November at Malton Cricket Club, organised by Ryedale Dog Rescue and hosted by Angus Ashworth of Ryedale Auctioneers. Over £3,000 was raised in aid of the rescue centre which takes care of and rehomes abandoned dogs.

Local businesses donated the items which went under auctioneer Angus’ gavel, including:
- BATA donated a year’s worth of dog food
- Eden Camp & Sledmere House donated family passes

Ryedale Auctioneers’ van driver Pete’s dog Barney (pictured below) was adopted from Ryedale Dog Rescue a few years ago. Barney is a Staffordshire cross and is a very good-natured dog who’s loved by all!

Rosie Stephenson of Ryedale Dog Rescue, said:
“The money raised is really important to us because we recently took on some dogs that needed expensive veterinary treatments.”

Ryedale Dog Rescue’s final fundraising event of the year is a dog show at the Milton Rooms in Malton on the 28th of November.
