Letter sent from Crown Princess Martha of Norway, wife of Crown Prince Olaf to the Captain, Officers and men of HMS Devonshire, written at sea and dated 1st May 1940 expressing thanks for evacuating them to Britain and expressing confidence in future relations between the 2 countries and wishing the crew the best of luck for the future. Letter signed Haakon as a member of the Norwegian royal family, a truly unique piece of history. Letter written in black ink on card, 10.6x13.1cm
